Meet the Officers of the Board

  • Susan Horner-Till

    PRESIDENT

Susan Horner-Till moved to Mountain Brook with her family in 1992. Before that, she lived in California, Utah, Wyoming, Tennessee, and Minnesota while husband Jim Till worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.                                                                                                                                                         The move to Montana was a switch to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife's wolf program, and later Creston Fish Hatchery.  The family fell in love with the Mountain Brook community and put down roots.  Susan joined the Mountain Brook Ladies Club right away. Older daughter Rosemary attended Kindergarten at Mountain Brook in the old schoolhouse.

Susan's training is in botany and plant ecology, but her career the last 32 years has been working with children: 21 years with Mountain View Mennonite Church after school program and seven as a special education paraprofessional.  She also teaches Sunday School and was a Girl Scout Leader.   Susan was part of the initial organization of the Mountain Brook Homestead Foundation and has been active in some capacity ever since.  She is currently President of the Board, fill-in Secretary, a Librarian, and has fingers in all of the committees.  Hobbies center around gardening and growing apple trees.

  • Debie Raiman

    VICE-PRESIDENT

Debie Raiman relocated from Phoenix, AZ to Kalispell, MT in 1994, moving to the Mountain Brook area in 1999, where she dedicated herself to raising her two children, homeschooling them for eight years. During this time, Mountain Brook library became a valuable resource for both her children’s educational journey and her community involvement.

Debie’s passion for community service led her to the Mountain Brook Homestead Foundation in 2004, where she began her volunteer work as a librarian. She quickly became more involved, attending board meetings and playing an integral role in expanding children’s programs. Her dedication eventually a chance to serve as Treasurer of the Foundation.

Although Debie had to step down from the board in 2017 due to family obligations, she continued to contribute her time and skills, serving as a Member-at-Large and Vice President. In her most recent term, she was re-elected as Vice President and remains actively involved in the Foundation’s Publicity and Fundraising Committees.

Having volunteered for over 20 years, Debie’s commitment to the Mountain Brook community remains strong, even though she no longer resides in the area. She continues to offer her time and expertise to support the mission of the Mountain Brook Homestead Foundation.
